About Meaning in Motion

I’m Lisa Ulshafer.
Meaning in Motion Studio is where I help people translate meaning into visual form.

My work is shaped by decades spent moving between disciplines that all ask the same question: how does meaning become something others can see, feel, and recognize as true?

I began with a degree in psychology, developing a deep understanding of human behavior, emotional processing, and the inner stories people live by. That foundation carried into my early career during the emergence of the internet, where I spent over twelve years running a graphic design and website studio, learning how structure, pacing, and visual hierarchy shape understanding.

From there, my work moved more fully into transformational coaching, teaching, and facilitation. Over the past twenty years, I have created programs, workshops, and written a book centered on personal growth, self-awareness, and the process of finding meaning in everyday experience.

Video eventually became the medium where these threads came together. Rather than replacing the depth of coaching work, it extended it. What once lived primarily in conversation, teaching, and live presence could now exist beyond the moment, carried through story, rhythm, and visual language.

Today, I use video and AI-assisted tools not to diminish the human element, but to give it form, creating work that moves beyond information and into feeling. The goal is the same as it has always been: to create work that does not simply communicate, but resonates. Work that fills the heart, evokes meaningful emotion, and allows something true to be felt.

Everything I create is guided by that intention.
